Baseball Game Preview: Dunkirk Marauders vs. Allegany-Limestone Gators

Dunkirk has gone 9-1 against Allegany-Limestone recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Marauders are taking a road trip to challenge the Gators at 5:00 p.m. Dunkirk will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, Dunkirk needed a bit of extra time to put away Allegany-Limestone. They won by a run and slipped past the Gators 7-6.

Josh Lemanski was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paul Trippy, who earned one RBI, one run, and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Davian Alvalle also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Dunkirk pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Allegany-Limestone, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-6.
