Softball Recap: Bartlett Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last seven times Bartlett and Munford have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Cougars, falling 13-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Bartlett saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashlyn McCommon, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Bartlett's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Munford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Coming up, Bartlett will venture away from home to take on Collierville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Munford, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Houston at 6:30 p.m.
