Softball Recap: Charlotte Christian Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

While Charlotte Christian's win against Providence Day wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Chargers 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won three in a row.

Morgan Banks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one triple.

In other batting news, Anna Hinde was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

Charlotte Christian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of five runs across that stretch. As for Providence Day, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Charlotte Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-2 victory against Covenant Day on the 15th. Providence Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
