Buena scaled the state rankings by moving to 511 from 584 this week, the biggest jump in Channel. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Oxnard 27-14.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, San Marcos beat Hueneme 49-9,. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Noah Martinez was a beast in the backfield as Buena beat the Yellowjackets.

Martinez was a passing and rushing force as Tim Gutierrez's team beat Oxnard. Martinez's key target this week was Blayne Bennett, who caught 6 passes for 67 yards.

Martinez was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 220 yards on 32 carries as the Bulldogs topped Mark Beckham's team.

Barrett Burnes threw for 206 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 13-23 with 0 interception.

Bennett was the best wideout in Channel this week as Buena topped the Yellowjackets. Martinez helped Buena's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 19 yards.

Burnes put up the best numbers through the air as Dos Pueblos fell to Lompoc. Burnes' favorite target this week was Matt Sessler, who caught 3 passes for 52 yards.

6-foot-5 quarterback Steve Ledesma of Ventura is the league leader in passing yards this season with 596. He has also thrown 3 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Esteban Alfaro. The San Marcos star has 13 catches for 258 yards.

San Marcos took down the Vikings 49-9 last week, the largest margin of any game. Alfaro ran for 111 yards and caught 3 passes for 55 yards during the win.
