Football Game Preview: Centerville Big Reds/Redettes vs. Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs

Centerville is 0-6 against Prairie City-Monroe since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Big Reds/Redettes will head out to square off against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Centerville comes in on seven and Prairie City-Monroe on five.

On Friday, Centerville made easy work of Albia and carried off a 55-30 win. The Big Reds/Redettes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Friday. Prairie City-Monroe breezed past Davis County to the tune of 42-8. Given Prairie City-Monroe's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Davis County is ranked 243rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Centerville's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Prairie City-Monroe, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Centerville took a serious blow against Prairie City-Monroe when the teams last played back in September of 2020, falling 69-0. Can the Big Reds/Redettes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
