Basketball Recap: Health Sciences Charter Takes a Loss

Health Sciences Charter lost against Canisius back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The game between the Health Sciences Charter Falcons and the Canisius Crusaders didn't end well, with the Health Sciences Charter Falcons falling 53-38. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Crusaders are ranked 29th).

Despite the loss, Health Sciences Charter still got an impressive performance from Nahsaan Young, who posted 12 points. Staz Chiddick was another key player, putting up four points along with six boards and three blocks.

Leading Canisius to victory were Patrick Cullinan and Ondre Foster. Cullinan went 5 for 12 en route to 20 points and six rebounds, while Foster earned ten points and six boards. Cullinan continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Esposito, who had eight points.

Health Sciences Charter has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Canisius, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Health Sciences Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against South Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canisius, they will head out on the road to take on The Park School of Buffalo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canisius is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.6 points per game this season.
