Softball Preview: Hercules Titans vs. Albany Cougars
Hercules hasn't had much luck against Albany recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 4:15 p.m. Hercules has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Hercules came up short against Campolindo on Monday, falling 15-8.
Hercules saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Saraya De Alba, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Albany let St. Patrick-St. Vincent stack five runs on them in the fourth inning last Monday but luckily Albany prevailed anyway. The Cougars skirted past the Bruins 9-7. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Bruins recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Sara Snyder was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Lauren Jones was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Albany kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Albany's record now sits at 6-8. As for Hercules, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-1.
Hercules might still be hurting after the 25-0 defeat they got from Albany in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
