Volleyball Recap: Kolbe-Cathedral Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Kolbe-Cathedral challenged Masuk on Friday. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Panthers. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-21, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Kolbe-Cathedral still got an impressive performance from Angel Gomez, who had 18 digs and one assist. Gomez has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 28 times he's played.

Masuk was led to victory by Andrew Oleyar and Jack Hanna. Oleyar had nine digs and two aces, while Hanna had four digs and two assists. That's the most assists Hanna has posted since back in April.

Kolbe-Cathedral's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Masuk, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Kolbe-Cathedral has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Bunnell on the 5th. As for Masuk, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Joel Barlow on the 5th.
