Football Recap: Sutherland Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Sutherland's offense. They were dealt a 69-0 defeat at the hands of the Hemingford Bobcats on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Sailors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Bobcats are ranked 46th).

This is the second loss in a row for Sutherland and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Hemingford, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sutherland is set to face off against their familiar foe Kimball at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. Meanwhile, Hemingford will square off against rival Bridgeport at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
