Recap: Gospel Light Christian vs. Triad Baptist Christian Academy Titans
After losing to the Triad Baptist Christian Academy Titans the last time they met, Gospel Light Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Gospel Light Christian came out on top against Triad Baptist Christian Academy by a score of 50-43 on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given Gospel Light Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while Triad Baptist Christian Academy is ranked 166th).
It was another big night for Maggie Jo Church, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 24 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Noelle Nelson was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Gospel Light Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Triad Baptist Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.
Gospel Light Christian will head out on the road to face off against Union Grove Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Union Grove Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday. As for Triad Baptist Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Caldwell Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Caldwell Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
