Basketball Recap: Dan River Wildcats vs. Halifax County Comets
Dan River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Halifax County Comets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-41 last Tuesday.
Despite the defeat, Dan River saw an underclassman step up: freshman Liza Maxey went 6 of 15 on her way to 19 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Akeelah Scott, who posted eight points and three steals.
