Softball Recap: Saddleback Comes Up Short

Saddleback was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 21-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Magnolia Sentinels. The Roadrunners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sentinels earlier this season, when they won 19-5.

Cassandra Cervantes stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Amie Victoriano, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.

Saddleback's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Magnolia, they moved to 2-12 with that victory, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Saddleback wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-5 loss against Bolsa Grande on the 28th. As for Magnolia, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-11 win against Century on the 25th.
