Football Recap: Economedes Skates Past Porter with Ease

Economedes won the last time they faced Porter and things went their way on Thursday too. The Jaguars breezed past the Cowboys to the tune of 78-21. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Jaguars had established a 44-point advantage.

Economedes got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Johan Nunez out in front who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Nunez's longest rush was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Economedes also got a significant boost from Rey Luna, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Economedes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 482 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Economedes has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points this season. As for Porter, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Economedes will head out to challenge Juarez-Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for Porter, they will look to defend their home field on the 12th against Lyford at 7:00 p.m.
