Volleyball Recap: University Triumphs + How To Watch

University's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They skirted past the Jones Fightin' Tigers 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Fightin' Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

University had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-24, 15-8.

University found their leader in sophomore Mariana Perez, who had nine digs and three aces. With that strong performance, Perez is now averaging an impressive 12.3 assists per game. Destini Jackson also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

University's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Jones, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. University will venture away from home to challenge Lyman at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jones, they will head out to square off against Apopka at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
