Basketball Recap: Ralston Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Ralston hadn't done well against Beatrice recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Ralston Rams walked away with a 45-38 victory over the Beatrice Orangemen. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 70-28 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lamar Rucker was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 9 on his way to 16 points and six boards. Eh Wah was another key player, putting up eight points.

Ralston is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Beatrice, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Ralston and Beatrice could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. Ralston (ranked 143rd) will meet Ashland-Greenwood (ranked 39th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Beatrice will take on Norris at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th down 201 places (203 vs. 2).
