Volleyball Recap: Frontier Takes a Loss

Frontier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Waterford Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-11, 23-25, 25-18.

Frontier's offense was headlined by Kelsey Dye and Kate Congleton, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Maddie Smith and her 14 assists. Finally, Dye was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Elsie Malec went supernova For Waterford., getting 22 digs and five aces. Malec is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

Frontier's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Waterford, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Frontier will head out on the road to square off against St. Marys at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Waterford, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
