It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Doral Academy can now relate to. They came up short against the Braddock Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 15-2. The Firebirds' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

George Pardo Jr. made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. Bryan Mesa also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Doral Academy's loss dropped their record down to 25-6-1. As for Braddock, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-1 record this season.

While Doral Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
