Softball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Morgantown

Jefferson faced Morgantown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cougars came up short against the Mohigans, falling 11-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cougars, who until this game were averaging 3.38 runs allowed.

Jefferson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Cowan, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jefferson fell to 7-1. As for Morgantown, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Jefferson and Morgantown will both be playing University the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Mohigans will host them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
