Baseball Recap: Lake Cormorant Takes a Loss

Lake Cormorant was the 6-4 winner over Center Hill when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. Lake Cormorant fell just short of Center Hill by a score of 4-3 on Friday.

Derrin Randle was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over 6.1 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Lake Cormorant dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Center Hill, their record is now 9-10.

Looking ahead, Lake Cormorant will take on Oxford at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Center Hill, they will face off against Corinth at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
