Soccer Game Preview: Northwest vs. South Whidbey

The Northwest House will venture away from home to face off against the South Whidbey Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Northwest's offense. They came up short against Overlake on Tuesday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Northwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Overlake are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, South Whidbey kept a clean sheet against Bear Creek on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 4-0 win. That's two games straight that South Whidbey have won by exactly four goals.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-2. As for South Whidbey, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.

Northwest couldn't quite get it done against South Whidbey in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the House avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
