Volleyball Game Preview: Amundsen Vikings vs. Von Steuben Panthers

The Amundsen Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Von Steuben Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Amundsen is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Taft just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Von Steuben had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Whitney Young on Tuesday.

While Von Steuben won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 26-24.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-2. As for Von Steuben, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.

Amundsen was able to grind out a solid victory over Von Steuben when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
