Volleyball Recap: Clay Center Tigers vs. Andale Indians
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clay Center can now relate to. They fell just short of the Andale Indians by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.
Clay Center started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 25-18.
Raimee Lipker paced Clay Center's offense, picking up 14 kills. Lipker got some help from Raicee Lipker and her 28 assists.
Andale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Abbi Winter out in front who had 17 assists and nine digs. Winter is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mia Aouad, who had 18 assists and eight digs.
Clay Center's loss dropped their record down to 40-4. As for Andale, the win (which was their 23rd in a row) raised their record to 35-1.
Clay Center has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Paola on the 1st. As for Andale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Hayden on the 1st.
