Basketball Recap: Springdale Takes a Loss

Springdale entered their contest against Jeannette on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Springdale Dynamos were dealt a 70-40 loss at the hands of the Jeannette Jayhawks. While losing is never fun, the Dynamos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Jayhawks are ranked 128th).

Jeannette's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kymone Brown, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Odorisio, who had 12 points.

Springdale's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Jeannette, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springdale will host Frazier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jeannette, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jeannette knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Greensburg Central Catholic likes a good challenge.
