Game recap: St. Francis High School Football Team defeats Archbishop Riordan

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - St. Francis (Mountain View, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 49-7 win over Archbishop Riordan (San Francisco, Calif.).

In the first quarter, the Lancers put up 21 points. St. Francis scored on a kick return touchdown by Landon Baty **, a touchdown pass by William Fisher-Colbrie to Alex Andrighetto * and a Fisher-Colbrie touchdown pass to Trill Hebert.

After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by Baty ** in the first quarter, SF led 42-0 at the half.

Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and at the beginning of the fourth it was still a 42 point game.

Fisher-Colbrie stood out for the Mountain View school in the win. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns.

Archbishop Riordan's lone touchdown came on a 17-yard pass from Zach Masoli to Christian Hall in the third quarter.



The Lancers had given up an average of 7.8 points prior to the contest. Archbishop Riordan's seven points were right around their season average of 9.8 per game.

The win was a nice bounce back for St. Francis, which lost to Bellarmine last week, 21-14. The loss was the third in a row for Archbishop Riordan.

In a West Catholic game next week Archbishop Riordan (2-4) takes on Sacred Heart Cathedral, and St. Francis (5-1) will go up against Archbishop Mitty also in a West Catholic game.
