Baseball Recap: Duval Charter Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Duval Charter had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Parker Braves with a sharp 12-3 win. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 8-3 victory the Braves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Michael Grimaldi looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andres Tedesco, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Alex Messer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Duval Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parker only posted an OBP of .333.

Parker's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Duval Charter wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-2 defeat against Yulee on the 14th. As for Parker, they have also already played their next matchup, a 4-2 loss against Paxon School For Advanced Studies on the 17th.
