Baseball Recap: Northside Christian Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hammond, Northside Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over the Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Crusaders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Will Spotts and Grayson Crim made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Spotts tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Crim tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. At bat, Spotts scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Crim scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Spencer McGee was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Levi Grotti, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1.

Northside Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Northside Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Lowcountry Leadership, they moved to 3-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Northside Christian Academy will be playing at home against Briarwood Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Northside Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Lowcountry Leadership, they will venture away from home to take on First Baptist School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
