Volleyball Recap: Anderson County Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Anderson County hadn't done well against Bearden recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Mavericks walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs. The Mavericks were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Bulldogs, so the Mavericks were just returning the favor.

Anderson County not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Bearden between 18 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18.

Lillian McCormick paced Anderson County's offense, picking up seven kills. McCormick got some help from Julia Owens and her 15 assists. Emersyn Blackburn controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Anderson County pushed their record up to 15-15 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bearden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Anderson County has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Campbell County on the 30th. As for Bearden, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Pigeon Forge at 6:00 p.m.
