Baseball Recap: West Covina Find Success

West Covina was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tustin Tillers, sneaking past 10-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Max Murillo made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Griffey Moncada, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Michael Gutierrez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

West Covina's record now sits at 6-4. As for Tustin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7-1.
