Recap: Crossroad Academy Scorpions vs. Franklin County Seahawks
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Crossroad Academy Scorpions had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They snuck past the Seahawks with a 47-42 win. Crossroad Academy didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Despite the defeat, Franklin County saw an underclassman step up: Sa'ryiah McNair scored 23 points. That was a full 54.8% of Franklin County's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Efredia Wesee, who scored eight points.
Crossroad Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-13. As for Franklin County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.
Crossroad Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-30 victory vs. Aucilla Christian on the 9th. Franklin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
