Basketball Recap: Philip Simmons Comes Up Short

Philip Simmons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Berkeley Stags and fell 57-17. The Iron Horses were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.

Despite the defeat, Philip Simmons had strong showings from Germany Moore, who posted seven points in addition to 13 boards and three steals, and Harper Cohen, who put up no points.

Berkeley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alaina Carter, who went 7 of 11 on her way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiyanna Moses, who had ten points and eight steals.

Philip Simmons' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Berkeley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Philip Simmons and Mountain View Prep will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Berkeley, they will head out to take on Timberland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
