Montgomery is 8-0 against Mar Vista since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Montgomery Aztecs will head out to challenge the Mar Vista Mariners at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Montgomery fell victim to San Ysidro and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Aztecs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 832nd, while the Cougars are ranked 402nd).

Meanwhile, Mar Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 4-2 to Sweetwater.

Carlo Castro MacIas and Henry Armenta scored both of Mar Vista's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Montgomery has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9-2 record this season. As for Mar Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7-3.

Montgomery was able to grind out a solid victory over Mar Vista in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Montgomery since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
