Baseball Recap: Troup Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Tatum typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Troup proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 7-6. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won three games in a row.

Troup let Caden Graves and Logan Lockey run wild. Graves scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Lockey scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Lockey a new career-high. Joshua Childress was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Troup kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Troup's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tatum, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Troup will welcome White Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tatum, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Brook Hill at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Guard have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
