Baseball Recap: Somerset Christian Takes a Loss

Somerset Christian had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it eight. They lost 15-0 to the Southwestern Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on Monday.

As for Southwestern, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Southwestern's part, Ben Stewart was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave Stewart a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mick Miller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Somerset Christian will take on Metcalfe County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southwestern, they will square off against Somerset at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors are facing the Briar Jumpers at the right time seeing as the Briar Jumpers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
