With a playoff win on the line, Brandon rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ocean Springs Greyhounds, sneaking past 7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Dakota Davis made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched eight innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Davis was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Hannah Jo Sullivan was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lila Harrison, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Brandon's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Ocean Springs, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-14.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Greyhounds beat Brandon by a score of 9-7 on Friday.
