Soccer Game Preview: Skyline vs. Mead

For the first time this season, Skyline will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Mead Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Skyline fell victim to Fairview and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Knights. While losing is never fun, Skyline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Fairview are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Mead came up short against Fairview on Thursday and fell 3-1.

The Mavericks' goal came courtesy of Katy Adler, who's now up to four this season.

Mead's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Skyline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's still a better percentage than their 1-7-1 record this season.

Skyline couldn't quite get it done against Mead when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
