Recap: Andalusia Bulldogs vs. Geneva Panthers
After a string of three wins, the Andalusia Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Geneva. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Andalusia in their matchups with Geneva: they've now lost five in a row.
Cheyenne Hammock was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Simone Minnifield, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Andalusia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Geneva, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Andalusia will challenge Slocomb at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Slocomb is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. Geneva won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Graceville at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Graceville is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
