Baseball Recap: Skyline Takes a Loss

Skyline made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Eastlake, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Spartans fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost three in a row.

Skyline got a good showing from Yuki Ikeuchi, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ikeuchi has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Luke Arneson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Evans, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Eastlake, they moved to 15-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Skyline has already played their next contest, an 11-0 defeat against Juanita on the 5th. As for Eastlake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 6-2 win against Woodinville on the 5th.
