After each having a week off, the Oxford Wolverines and the Derby Red Raiders will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Derby took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Oxford, who comes in off a win.

Oxford's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They claimed a resounding 27-0 victory over Watertown. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

The critical scores for Oxford came from James Marcella, Brady Thompson, Trent Therriault, and Jorge Ochoa.

Oxford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Chase Skolozdra and Ochoa. Oxford received some extra help from Therriault, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Derby's offense. They took a blow against Ansonia last Friday, falling 42-0. The Red Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Derby's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Oxford, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
