Baseball Recap: Brookville Takes a Loss

Brookville lost against Madison on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blue Devils fell 10-5 to the Mohawks. The Blue Devils just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Brady Harrison was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carson Collins made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Nathan Waggoner also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Brookville's record now sits at 5-14. As for Madison, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

Coming up, Brookville will square off against Northmont at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Madison, they will take on Talawanda at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mohawks are facing the Brave at the right time seeing as the Brave are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
