Football Recap: Poth Starts Season with Victory at Home

Poth gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Jourdanton Indians/Squaws 20-19. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Pirates were the better team in the second half.

Among those leading the charge was Major Luna, who threw for 142 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 53 yards. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024.
