Recap: Bethlehem Center Bulldogs vs. California Trojans

The Bethlehem Center Bulldogs lost against the California Trojans back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Bethlehem Center was dealt a 62-6 defeat at the hands of California. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bethlehem Center in their matchups with California: they've now lost four in a row.

California's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Spencer Petrucci, who rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Petrucci is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Jake Layhue was another key contributor, rushing for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.

California's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Christian Ross and his two sacks.

Bethlehem Center's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for California, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Bethlehem Center will look to defend their home field on Friday against Monessen at 7:00 p.m. Monessen is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for California, they will head out on the road to face off against Bentworth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bentworth will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 488th, while California is ranked 226th).
