Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Hamilton County

Hamilton County had won three straight games and Rayci Phelps did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Hamilton County Foxes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 victory over the Frankfort Redbirds thanks in part to Phelps, who posted 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hamilton County's points.

Another player making a difference was Brylee Varner, who put up five points and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Hamilton County's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Frankfort, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton County will face off against Carmi-White County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hamilton County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season. Frankfort has already played their next game (against Benton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
