Basketball Recap: Hilliard Red Flashes vs. Trenton Tigers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hilliard had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trenton Tigers, sneaking past 57-54. Given the Red Flashes' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Tigers are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cj Hall was his usual excellent self, going 6-for-13 on his way to 20 points and eight boards. The game was his third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Alderman, who posted 11 points.
Despite the loss, Trenton still got an impressive performance from Mason VunCannon, who went 9-for-17 en route to 25 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave VunCannon a new career-high in points. Tyler Bullis was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 16 points and five assists.
Hilliard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Trenton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-12.
