It was a good run, but Caesar Rodney unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Smyrna Eagles by a score of 2-1. The Riders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Caesar Rodney saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was William Lorentz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Jadrian Sanchez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Caesar Rodney's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Smyrna, the win snapped their losing streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 3-14 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Caesar Rodney will square off against Delmar at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Smyrna, they will face off against St. Georges Tech at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
