Volleyball Recap: Essex Starts Season with Win at Home

Essex gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against the Mt. Mansfield Cougars as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Essex not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Mt. Mansfield between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-17.

Mt. Mansfield's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grady Tacy-Munroe, who had seven kills and three aces. Holden Lerner was another key player, getting 16 assists and one block.

Mt. Mansfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-1.

Essex does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Mansfield, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against South Burlington on the 20th.
