There's no place like home for Sierra, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Parlier Panthers on Friday. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Addy Carrillo made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Sierra let Abby Bays and Dixie Dow run wild. Bays scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Dow went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Bays is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylah Gibson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Sierra was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in three consecutive games.
Sierra's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Parlier, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
