Galax hasn't had much luck against Auburn recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Maroon Tide will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Galax is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Galax is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 28 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Carroll County on Monday. They fell 5-1 to the Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, Auburn entered their tilt with Blacksburg on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Skyler Hodges tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hope Wilson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnnie Gaynor, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Auburn's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Galax, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
