Baseball Recap: Nutley Triumphs

Nutley posted their closest win since May 8, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wayne Hills Patriots, sneaking past 6-4.

Ryan Pessoa looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabriel Robriguez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin McNeil, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Nutley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Wayne Hills, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Nutley will welcome St. Benedict's Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wayne Hills, they will head out to square off against Fair Lawn at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
