It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Salem had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Blacksburg Bruins. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Salem's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Blacksburg, they moved to 16-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Salem nor the Bruins have any future games scheduled.
