Preview: Gulliver Prep Raiders vs. Sagemont
The Gulliver Prep Raiders on the road again on Tuesday and play against Sagemont at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Gulliver Prep beat Westminster Christian 64-55.
Jackson Mansfield continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Amare Sanders was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Sagemont faced Lake Worth in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sagemont walked away with a 62-54 victory over Lake Worth on Friday.
Sagemont got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Patrick Liburd out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Thomas, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Gulliver Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Sagemont, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-6.
Gulliver Prep lost to Sagemont on the road by a decisive 52-38 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2021. Can Gulliver Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
